Please find attached the most updated flyer for Green City Force Clean Energy Corps program.  Green City Force is a NYCHA partner and for its second year is now actively recruiting NYCHA residents between the ages 18-24 for a fantastic potentially life changing opportunity!    Green City Force provides preparation for career success through public service, academic training, college preparation and hands-on work experience related to clean energy (the green, environmental sustainability field).  Below you may find answers to some frequently asked questions that may come up about the program please feel free to share this information with your NYCHA networks and encourage residents to apply!

Eligibility Requirements:
Age between 18-24
NYCHA Resident on the Lease
Hold a High School Diploma or a GED
Must not be enrolled in college between July-December 2012
NYCHA residents with criminal record or court involvement are encouraged to apply

General Program Information:
6 Months full-time training
Location may vary through NYC depending on projects/assignments

Two tracks to choose from:

College Preparation
College enrollment and placement assistance
Preparation for CUNY entrance exam
Guidance/tracking throughout the first year of college
May select any major/concentration upon enrollment

Career Preparation
Job placement assistance
Career coaching

Program Benefits for both tracks:           
Up to $500 bi-weekly stipend (contingent upon attendance)
Unlimited Monthly Metrocard
College Preparation
$2675 Scholarship awarded to all who successfully complete the program (can be applied to any college/University)
Soft Skills training
Job Readiness
Green jobs training (exposure to the Green Energy and Sustainability field)
Technical training and certifications
Networking and leadership opportunities

Multi Stage Selection Process:
Attend a required information session
Complete paper application
Attend the 1st interview
Take TABE (minimum requirement is 9th grade level reading/math)
Try Outs (a final hands on interview)
Urine Drug Test
Criminal Background Check

NRTA Resume Workshop

NRTA is offering two upcoming resume workshops to prepare NYCHA residents for employment opportunities with the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The workshops will take place on Friday, February 17th and Friday, February 24th from 9am to 4pm at 787 Atlantic Avenue. Residents must RSVP at 718-289-8100 to attend.
